...Right. Keep in mind there are always going to be exceptions to the rule. Sometimes situations, such as dealings with authority figures, demand cooperation. You won't ever be able to avoid everything that upsets you. The only true solution is to develop a thick enough skin that most things will no longer upset you.

I think trolls are interesting. In some ways, your culture sounds similar to the one I grew up in.

I meant it figuratively. To 'grow thicker skin' or 'a tougher hide' is to strengthen your esteem and your nerves so that minor or moderate conflicts don't drive you to flee with your tail between your legs.
