[The video opens up on what some might recognize as Tavros' respiteblock, otherwise known as a troll's bedroom. Everything within it--including the cards, stuffed animals, and odd-looking balls strewn about--is tinted in orange-brown, similar to the color of Tavros' font.

The camera angle affords a view of the floor. There doesn't appear to be any sign of the troll, and it stays that way for some time. Anyone who cares to watch long enough, though, will eventually be treated to the vision of Tavros gliding into frame from behind wherever the camera is located.

That's right. Gliding. Or flying, if you prefer!

He lands in the middle of the floor, back to the camera, wearing a gold, pyjama-like outfit that should be recognizable to most trolls. After a moment, he sits on the floor and drags his apparently fully-functional legs to his chest, rests his head on his knees, and sighs.]

Oh. You don't? Oh, but you must be able to sleep in your recuperacoon okay, right? And the sopor slime or, whatever the human equivalent might be, probably subdues them, so you don't remember.

I don't really know what either of those things are... is it like a bed?

Well... I guess that could be another way to call it, although I've only ever used that term when referring to animals. Such as... my horsaroni enjoys sleeping on a bed of grass, and such?

Do humans sleep on things like that?

Oh, no, we don't sleep in grass! It's more like... um, here, let me move the camera. *She awkwardly moves around the early-2000s webcam to show a bed with a fluffy green bedspread and a bunch of stuffed animals on it.* These are composed of a metal or wooden frame supporting a large mat stuffed with cotton and springs, although sometimes it's stuffed with foam instead now that they're coming out with those sorts of things. I wondered why I didn't see one in your room.

[peering at the screen with interest] Oh, wow. That's, er...

How do you get in it? Or, do you just lie on top of it...

Um, well, you pull down the top layers and get under that! What do you do?

[blinks] Oh. I guess that makes sense, um... hang on...

[He sits up and moves the camera to the right, bringing a large, pupae-like object into view. There's a ramp leading to the top of it.]

That's my recuperacoon, or 'bed', I guess, except we sleep inside of it. It's filled with sopor slime, to keep our dreams subdued.

...How do you breathe in it?

Uhh, well... [He turns the camera back to its original location] We just do? We're sort of, you know, adapted for it. Although, uhh, I haven't really had to deal with breathing in it for a while, so...

[/awkward turtle]

Like how I can breathe in the water?

Sort of like that, I guess? Although, maybe that would be more similar to how aquatic trolls breathe in the water, because land-dwelling trolls can't. So, er, I guess it's not really all that similar...

I guess not. It's still strange to think about how I'm not the only one like me in some other world, I should admit.

Oh, but it's a good thing, isn't it? It's nice to know you're not alone. At least, that's how I think...

Has that happened to you? With, um, other people who can command animals, or something like that?

Kind of. I mean... Well, not really, but Kefka told me a story about someone who could?

But it's okay! It's normal for trolls to have some sort of, you know, uh, psychic command over someone or something, so I don't feel very alone in that.

So you weren't alone to begin with? That's probably better. I have a few friends at home who are sort of like me now, although none of them are fish.

Oh? How are they like you, then?

We were all born with the specific sequences that allowed us to adapt to the sample injections. One of my friends is a cat, one is a bird, one is a monkey, and one is a wolf. We also met a girl once who was sort of like us but not exactly, and she was a penguin.

Oh wow. That's kind of really amazing. I wonder if I could commune with you guys....

I don't really know. Maybe if my genes progress further you could try it. Ichigo-san's did and sometimes she even turns into a cat, though she hasn't done it in a long time.

Oh, well, I would only do it with your permission, of course, but I think it could be fun to try, sometime.

Do you think so?

Yeah! I mean, maybe. I've never really tried it with a creature so complex. --Uhh, not that you're a creature, or, anything rude like that! Just that, I mean, I, uh...

Isn't everyone a creature, technically...?

...Oh, well... I guess? I just, didn't want to accidentally offend you or be culturally insensitive or uh... never mind...
